man oh man was the wool pulled over my eyes!
tonight i thought i was going to a staff team dinner. we were going to hang out and have community after what has been a trying few weeks/months. boy was i wrong. we ended up going to la jolla pres (where we have our staff and leaders' meetings. the students had laid out the red carpet (red buthcher paper) and we saw camera flashes and people yelling for our autographs.
as we were served a great dinner, the students did skits, had worship, and shared what they appreciated about us. then they had feet washing (which i think was the second time, definitely the first in this context) and to have students come up and weep as they wash your feet is something else. i'm feeling humbled by this experience and showered with love (yes, the theme was superheros and i got an x-men comic book, a gift certificate to cheesecake factory, and a card full of notes). man, the LORD is good!
this is the second time in the last two days that i've been so blessed by this community. last night it was take back the night. to see our community come out in full force was awesome!!!! one girl, who has been in the fellowship for four years, shared about being molested at the age of 7 and last night being the first time she told anyone. to see the community embrace her as she got off stage and pray for her said a lot more about the power of the gospel and Jesus than people yelling at the top of their lungs about God. it was really a blessed opportunity to see word AND deed go hand in hand. praise GOD!!!!!
so it's getting late and i'm trying to go to bed sooner than later... especially since i have to work on my talk all day tomorrow :) i just want to say that i feel blessed, and tonight i will dream light dreams that are lined with sliver clouds.
